RBC Scholarship Award
If you are a Grade 12 student that plays on a High School or community hockey team, you can win a $5,000 scholarship towards your University or College studies next year.
Awards for both Male and Female Hockey Players
RBC will provide a scholarship award to one male Grade 12 student and one female Grade 12 student from the Niagara region.
Value and Duration of the Awards
Up to $5,000 CDN over four academic years for College or University studies if the overall average of 70% is maintained. The scholarship will provide $1,000 a year for the first three years and $2,000 for the fourth year.
Scholarship Criteria
* Must be a 2009-2010 registered player in Minor Hockey or High School Hockey
* Must be a Grade 12 student graduating in June 2010
* Must be planning full-time attendance at an accredited Canadian University or College starting no later than September 2009
* Must have a minimum 70% (B) average at mid-term in Grade 12
* No game misconduct penalties during the current season.
Applications must be received by mail (no e-mail or electronic applications will be accepted) and sent to the Community Marketing Manager - Amateur Hockey Scholarship Awards on or before April 1st, 2010 at the address below. RBC is not responsible for any lost or incomplete applications, and will not communicate with any applicants unless selected as a winner.

Amateur Hockey Scholarship Awards
Step 1:
Print a copy of your application.
Step 2:
Complete your application form.
Step 3:
Submit your application form and enclose:
1. Official transcript of your mid-term results
(or a photocopy bearing the original signature, school stamp or seal)
2. Bring together two signed letters of reference:
a) From your hockey team coach, which includes a description of your leadership on the team, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey
b) From a teacher, school counsellor or principal certifying your academic achievement, positive attitude and school citizenship
3. One page (maximum 250 words) essay on one of the following topics:
a) The Impact of Hockey on Canadian Society
b) Greatest Hockey Memory
c) The Future of Women's Hockey in Canada
d) How does volunteering benefit your community?
Step 4:
Copy your application form and materials for future reference.
Step 5:
Mail your application package so it arrives by April1st 2010 or earlier.
