World Under-18 Hockey Championships Underway

IceDogs forward Freddie Hamilton and the Canadian Under-18 National Team are under way at the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in Belarus.

IceDogs forward Freddie Hamilton and the Canadian Under-18 National Team are under way at the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in Belarus.

Canada helped kick off the tournament this morning, as they took on the Swiss in one of the tournament's opening games.  The Canadians outshot the Swiss 34-33, but Swiss goaltender Lukas Meili was solid, making 33 saves to lead his team over the Canadians by a 3-1 margin.

Hamilton was held off the scoresheet, along with the majority of his teammates, registering one shot on goal to go along with an even rating in the loss.

The Canadians will next see action Thursday as they look to rebound aginst the host Belarusians at 8am ET.
