The CHL, in conjunction with Home Hardware, have announced the rosters for the Annual Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects game, with IceDogs Goaltender Mark Visentin being selected as a part of Team Orr.
The 17-year old Waterdown native has seen an increased work load in his second season with the IceDogs having already seen more action in the 2009-10 season than he had in the entirety of his rookie season of 2008-09 and his play has improved with the increased playing time. Visentin has already doubled his win total from a year ago, with a GAA that is almost a goal lower and a save percentage that has increased .033 from a year ago.
Visentin's play has not got unnoticed around the league as, in addition to the Top Prospects selection, he has also been named a CHL Goaltender of the Week this season and was ranked as the top Draft Eligible Goaltender in the OHL in the ISS Preliminary 2010 Draft Rankings in November.
The rosters for the game were selected by the 30 NHL General Managers with NHL Central Scouting and include 18 players from the Ontario Hockey League, 13 players from the Western Hockey League, and nine players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will take place January 19th and 20th at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, with the Skills Competition taking place on the 19th, followed by the game itself on January 20th. The event will once again see Bobby Orr and Don Cherry behind the benches for the game, which will be broadcast live nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.
