The Niagara IceDogs would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans who came out to support the IceDogs Annual Teddy Bear Toss night this past Friday, December 4.
Approximately 975 stuffed toys were collected this year, and while that number maybe be down slightly from last season, the toys were of a better quality this year.
These stuffed toys will be distributed to four different worthwhile causes.
Approximately 500 teddy bears went to the Niagara Victim Crisis Support Services for children who are victims or witnesses of crime, or involved in tragic circumstances.
Approximately 200 stuffed toys were given to Community Care's Annual Toy Drive and Read n Teddy program.
Another 100 stuffed toys went to the Child Advocacy Center.
The remainder of the toys were donated to Family and Children Services of Niagara.
On behalf of the Niagara IceDogs and all the agencies who received the toys, we would like to extend a big thank you to all the fans who participated in the Teddy Bear Toss.
We hope to see you all at the Teddy Bear Toss game again next year, where we can hope collect an even greater number of stuffed toys for these great causes.
