THANK YOU FANS!!!!!!

March 30, 2010

The entire IceDogs organization just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support of the course of the 2009-10 season.

The entire IceDogs organization just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support of the course of this season.  It was certainly a rollercoaster season filled with lots of excitement and emotion, from a tough start that saw the team in last place at one point, to a fantastic finish which saw a team written off by many climb back into the playoffs and pickup the seventh seed, only to fall to the second seeded Ottawa 67’s in a hard fought five game series.

It was a very interesting season in which the growth of a young team was extremely evident.  Captain Andrew Agozzino and Alternate Captains Alex Friesen, Dylan MacEachern and Reggie Traccitto embraced their roles as leaders of the team and helped right the ship, creating a great atmosphere and helping set the stage for this team’s future.  While Reggie, along with fellow overagers Marco Insam and Josh Moes, will unfortunately not be back next year to enjoy the further development of this team, the rest of the team will be looking to further the improvement they made over the second half of the season.  With another year under their belts and the nucleus of the team returning, the 2010-11 season looks to be an exciting one.

As is the case every year, you fans were once again a key part of our success.  We once again had a good season for attendance with the Gatorade Garden City Complex at or near capacity nearly every night and even when attendance wasn’t great for our first home playoff game; the fans that did come out were loud and proud, continued to stand behind our IceDogs and did everything they could to support the team.  For this we thank you.  It is because of you that we have the best atmosphere of any rink in the CHL, something that was especially apparent in Game 4 of our series versus Ottawa.  The team needed you to be loud and proud and the crowd was probably as loud and as supportive as any crowd all season.  It is that type of atmosphere that makes our rink difficult to play in for the opposition and it is a source of pride for not only our entire organization, but our entire region.  The passion and enthusiasm you fans show for this team is an inspiration to all of us and it is the reason this is all possible.

So thank you all again for your support and we look forward to seeing you all at the rink next season!
