Excluding the preseason, Thursday will mark the first time these two teams have met in a meaningful game since Niagara eliminated Oshawa in the playoffs last season. Coming off a weekend in which they earned five out of a possible six points, the IceDogs will look to stay hot against the Generals.
Offense has not been a problem for the Generals so far this season, as they are tied for third in the Eastern Conference with 57 goals. Oshawa is led offensively by three 2011 NHL draft picks in Boone Jenner (2nd Rd., CBJ), Nicklas Jensen (1st Rd., VAN), and Lucas Lessio (2nd Rd., PHX), each scoring at a point-per-game pace or better.
However, the Generals will be without one of their top offensive threats as right winger Christian Thomas serves his ten game suspension for high sticking on Brandon Archibald of the Saginaw Spirit.
With the rivarly that started last season between these two teams, Thursday's matchup is sure to be another great game. Don't miss out on the action and get your tickets now!
Great seats are still available for Thursday's game. You can purchase tickets at the Niagara IceDogs office at 35 Queen Street in St. Catharines, at the customer service desks in the Pen Centre and Seaway Mall, or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
