The Niagara IceDogs received contributions from the entire lineup, defeating the Ottawa 67's by a score of 4-1.
Joel Wigle opened the scoring for Niagara just under two minutes into the game, beating Ottawa goaltender Petr Mrazek on a rebound. Ottawa answered on a powerplay later in the period to even the score heading into the first intermission. Mark Visentin was sharp in the frame, turning aside 10 of 11 shots on goal.
The IceDogs continued the offensive attack in the second period, as Freddie Hamilton converted on a two-man advantage. Ryan Strome and brother Dougie collected the assists on the play. Mitchell Theoret continued his strong play of late by adding an insurance marker two minutes later. The goal was his third in the past four games.
In the third, the IceDogs top-ranked powerplay struck again as sophomore defenceman Jesse Graham tallied his first of the season. Mark Visentin was perfect the rest of the way after giving up the lone goal in the first period.
The IceDogs will have a night off Friday before hosting the Plymouth Whalers on Saturday evening at 7:00pm.
