The Niagara IceDogs weren't able to solve Majors netminer Chris Carrozzi on Saturday night, as the Mississauga netminer was able to make 20 saves in a 4-0 win.

Petteri Simila got the start for the IceDogs and was forced into early action making 18 saves in the first period and 38 overall. 

Mississauga was to hit the board when a Cameron Gaunce blast from the point eluded Simila making it 1-0 Majors at the 18:27 mark. 

Gaunce's goal was the only action in a lulling first period, as the IceDogs only mustered 4 shots on Majors goaltender Chris Carrozzi who leads the OHL with a .934 save percentage and 1.82 goals against average. 

The IceDogs power play continued to hamper them, as they gave up a shorthanded goal to Ryan Lopes at the 9:45 mark of the second.

The Majors power play struck late in the period when Casey Cizikas bulged the twine making it 3-0 heading into the third. 

Mississauga was able to tack on the dagger at the 11:34 mark with Corey Bureau walking out untouched from the corner to beat Simila and extend the lead to 4-0. 

With Carrozzi's shutout being the only thing in question, the Mississauga backstopper was able to stop Andrew Shaw on a breakaway as the Majors finalized a clean sheet by outshooting Niagara 42-20 en route to a 4-0 win. 

The IceDogs come back to the friendly confines of the Jack Gatecliff arena for a Saturday night affair against the Sudbury Wolves.  Puck-drop is at 7:00 p.m and tickets are available at Ticketmaster locations.

Notes:  Mitchell Theoret dressed with Michael Hasson and Josh Moes scratched...The IceDogs fall to 3-5-7-1 with the loss...Niagara's power play hasn't scored in five games... Dylan MacEachern and Rob Flick dropped the gloves and squared off in an altercation late in the third.
