Legein and OHL Stars lead Canada to Finals

IceDogs Forward Stefan Legein and Team Canada advanced to the gold medal game at the World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic.

Team Canada got onto the board with a goal by Bellville Bulls forward Shawn Matthias assisted by Kitchener Rangers forward Matt Halischuk. Niagara IceDogs forward Stefan Legein also recorded an assist on the games third goal by Colton Gillies. Recently traded to the Kitchener Rangers goaltender Steve Mason back stopped Canada earning player of the game honours. Canada will now take on Sweden Saturday afternoon in the Gold Medal game at 2:00.

Today's game is first of two match-ups between Canada and the United States. Later tonight Team Ontario led by IceDogs forward Andrew Aggozino and Head Coach Mario Cicchillo will go for Gold against the Americans at the World Under-17 Championships in London, Ontario.
