IceDogs Pound Frontenacs 8 - 2

The IceDogs scored 6 unanswered to top the Frontenacs 8-2 Sunday afternoon.

The IceDogs scored early and often Sunday afternoon, thumping the Kingston Frontenacs 8 - 2. The Dogs once again showed their ability to score in bunches by netting 6 straight unanswered and going into the second period tied.

The IceDogs who peppered Mavric Parks with over 50 shots got production from everyone as 10 different Dogs recorded a point. With solid production from all four lines the IceDogs utilized their speed and precise passes to dominate the Frontenacs and sweep both games of the weekend home and home.

With 4 goals in the second period the IceDogs blew the game open highlighted by goals Alex Pietrangelo, Andrew Agozzino, Jordan Foreman and Drew Schiestel. Fresh off his Gold Medal performance at the World Under -17 Championships Agozzino was named the games first star with a goal and two assists.

Michael Swift once again continued his strong play of the season adding a goal and two assists to bring his season total to 55 points. The red hot Jordan Foreman celebrated with 21st Birthday with two goals and an assist bringing his point total to 8 for the weekend.

Other notably performances included Luca Caputi who scored his team leading 29th goal of the season and added two assists; Andrew Merritt who with pitched in with three assists; Chris DeSousa who notched a goal and an assist; and Matt Corrente who added a pair of helpers. Goaltender Adrian Vople recorded his second straight win with a 14 save performance.

The crowd at the Gatorade Garden City Complex was over 3,000 for the third straight game as 3,008 fans turned out on Sunday afternoon. The IceDogs head on the road next week as they travel north to face the Sudbury Wolves and Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds.

The next home game is Thursday January 17th when the Dogs host Craig Hartsburg the Head Coach of the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds and Canadian World Junior team at the Gatorade Garden City Complex, game time is 7:30.
