IceDogs Travel to Erie to Face Familiar Foe

October 26, 2011

The IceDogs travel to Pennsylvania tonight to face off with the Erie Otters.

Coming off two decisive victories over the Ottawa 67's and Plymouth Whalers last weekend, the IceDogs appear to have found their comfort zone and will look to carry their momentum into tonight's game against the Erie Otters.

While the Otters have struggled out of the gate in 2011, they have always played Niagara tough in their own building.  Erie's offence is led by a pair of Toronto Maple Leafs draft picks in centre Greg McKegg and winger Sondre Olden.  McKegg scored 49 goals and 92 points last season, finishing 8th in OHL scoring.  Olden has scored at a point-per-game pace in his first season in the OHL after being drafted in the 2011 OHL Import Draft.

Tonight's game will mark the return of Niagara goaltender Christopher Festarini to Erie since being acquired by the IceDogs in a trade last week.  IceDogs defenceman Brock Beukeboom will make his team debut tonight after being sidelined with injuries.
