Mark Visentin picked up his third consecutive shutout as the Niagara IceDogs defeated the Battalion 3-0 in Brampton Sunday afternoon to retake the Central Division lead.

The IceDogs would get on the board midway through the first as Brett Ritchie continued his strong play by beating Brampton starter Matej Machovsky to make it 1-0.  The IceDogs would then stretch the lead to 2-0 as Andrew Agozzino would pick up his 30th goal of the season.  More importantly the goal was his 149th career goal, breaking a tie with Patrick O'Sullivan for the most career goals in IceDogs franchise history.  Those would prove to be the only two goals of the period as Niagara headed into the break with a 2-0 lead.

The second period would see the IceDogs outshoot the Battalion 11-2, but both goaltenders would be equal to the task, as the score remained 2-0 through 40 minutes.

Steven Shipley would stretch the lead to 3-0 less than a minute into the third and Visentin would take it from there, making it a 3-0 final in favour of the visitors.  Final shots were 29-15 for the IceDogs.

The shutout was Visentin's seventh of the season, extending his league lead in the category.  The game was the end of a remarkable month of January for Visentin who finished with a 7-0 record with a 0.86 G.A.A., .964 save percentage and three shutouts.

The IceDogs will next hit the ice next Friday night when they visit the league leading London Knight, before returning home to host the Battalion Saturday night, February 4th at 7pm.
