IceDogs Select Sysala 116th in CHL Import Draft

The Niagara IceDogs have selected David Sysala with the 116th pick in the 2012 CHL Import Draft.  Sysala is a 6 foot, 176 lbs. centre from Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The Niagara IceDogs have selected David Sysala with the 116th pick in the 2012 CHL Import Draft.  Sysala is a 6 foot, 176 lbs. centre from Ostrava, Czech Republic, who spent last season playing for HC Vitkovice U18 in the Czech Republic.

The 17-year-old put up 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points to go along with 56 penalty minutes in 39 games with HC Vitkovice U18 last season.



Sysala has also represented the Czech Republic internationally, having played with the national team at both the U16 and U17 level, including playing in the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Windsor this past January where he had two assists in five games.

The IceDogs would like to welcome David to the organization and look forward to seeing him in Niagara in the near future!
