With their first pick in the second round, 25th overall, the Niagara IceDogs have selected centre Billy Jenkins from the Ottawa Valley Titans.
Jenkins is a 5 foot 10 inch, 160 pound Stittsville, ON native who had 23 goals and 37 assists for 60 points in only 30 games. Jenkins is described as a highly skilled, crafty offensive minded forward who possesses a real scorer`s touch. He is described as being most effective when he has possession of the puck. Jenkins has excellent hands and when he plays with the puck he does so at a very high pace and speed. He also has speed, quickness and the ability to change directions and gears in an instant. When he has the puck and is on the offensive attack he is described as being able to flat out fly.
The IceDogs are extremely happy to welcome Billy to the organization and look forward to seeing him on the ice in the near future.
