The schedule for the 2012-2013 regular season has been finalized and released to the public!
The Niagara IceDogs will open the season at home against the Erie Otters on Thursday, September 20th at 7:00pm. This game will mark the first game of 15-year-old Connor McDavid’s OHL career after he was drafted first overall in the latest OHL Priority Selection.
The IceDogs only have one home game in the month of September and will not return to the Jack until Thursday, October 4th when they will take on the Mississauga Steelheads for the first time. After being sold in the offseason, the franchise has decided to change its brand and cut ties with the St. Michael’s College history.
It will not take very long to renew hostilities with the Ottawa 67’s, the team the IceDogs defeated in the Eastern Conference Championship a year ago, as they will face each other twice in the first four weeks of the season. Niagara will host Ottawa in their third home game of the season on Thursday, October 11th.
IceDogs fans still hot over the loss to London last season will need to be patient as the Knights do not visit St. Catharines until the second half of the season on Sunday, February 17th.
Fans should also remember that the IceDogs will be back on the radio for 2012/13 and all games can be heard live on AM 610 CKTB!
