The Niagara IceDogs earned a big road victory, defeating the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 on Friday night. 

Niagara got off to a good start, jumping out to a 1-0 lead on a power play goal from Steven Shipley.  Windsor would answer with a goal of their own to tie the game, but that score did not last long.  Rookie Trevor Petersen would score his first career OHL goal, followed by goals from Alex Friesen and Dougie Hamilton.
 
Former Niagara IceDogs goaltender Jaroslav Pavelka started the second period, relieving John Cullen, another former IceDogs goaltender, who allowed four goals on 17 shots in the first period.  Pavelka played well in the period, making 15 saves and giving his team a chance to catch up.  The Spitfires scored twice in the frame to cut the IceDogs lead to 4-3.

In the third period, Andrew Agozzino would add an insurance marker, scoring the second shorthanded goal of the game for the IceDogs.  The score would remain 5-3 until Friesen would ice the game, scoring an empty net goal with just under two minutes remaining. 

Mark Visentin made 26 saves, winning for the fourth time in his last five games.   

The IceDogs will now travel to Sarnia on Saturday night to face Nail Yakupov and the Sting.
