The third period would see both teams have their chances to take the lead, but Chris Festarini and Matej Machovsky would be up to the task, keeping the score at 2-2 and sending the game to OT.  Shots in regulation time favoured Brampton 39-24.

In overtime, the IceDogs would carry a good portion of the play and then at the 2:41 mark, Dougie Hamilton would fire home a rebound to send the IceDogs fans home happy with a 3-2 overtime victory!
