Niagara IceDogs General Manager and Head Coach Marty Williamson announced the acquisition of Brett Ritchie from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for draft picks.

The IceDogs send Guelph’s 2^nd round pick in 2012, their own 2^nd round pick in 2013, Peterborough’s 2^nd round pick in 2014 and their own 5^th round pick in 2013 to Sarnia in exchange for Ritchie.

In Ritchie, the IceDogs acquire a 6’3”, 190 lbs. right winger, who was a second round pick of the Dallas Stars, 44^th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry draft.  The 18 year old has 42 goals and 43 assists for 85 points in 137 career games to go along with 112 career penalty minutes.  Ritchie was selected by Sarnia in the first round, 12^th overall in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.
