IceDogs forward and recent Vancouver Canucks draft pick Alex Friesen is currently in Vancouver attending the Canucks Summer Prospects Development Camp.
Friesen, the Canucks sixth round pick - 172nd overall, is one of 35 players attending the camp, along with 22 other players who were either drafted or signed by the Canucks and 12 free agent invites.
The camp got underway today (Tuesday) with fitness testing, headshots, speeches from the Canucks brass, opening meetings and on-ice training. The camp will continue throughout the week, with players participating in a variety of on- and off-ice sessions that will showcase the city of Vancouver, including hiking the Grouse Grind and Dragon Boating at False Creek.
All on-ice sessions will occur at the former General Motors Place and while the sessions are closed to the public, there will be a wide variety of coverage available throughout the week from Canucks.com and through the Canucks Twitter feed @VanCanucks.
The IceDogs would like to wish Alex all the best at camp and look forward to seeing him back in Niagara soon!
