Christopher Festarini made 28 saves for his first career shutout, leading the Niagara IceDogs to a 7-0 victory over the Erie Otters.  

Niagara had a number of scoring chances in the first period, but a few bad bounces and hit posts held them off the scoreheet through twenty minutes.  Festarini made 16 saves in the frame to blank the Otters. 

The flood gates opened just under four minutes into the second period as Mitchell Theoret tallied a power play goal on assists from Jesse Graham and Carter Verhaeghe.  Steven Shipley extended the Niagara lead just over thirty seconds later, scoring his ninth goal of the season.  The offensive barrage continued after another thirty seconds with Broderick Kelly collecting his first career OHL goal. 

After the third Niagara goal in less than two minutes, Erie netminder Ramis Sadikov was lifted from the game and replaced by Tyson Teichmann.  The goaltender switch did not slow the Niagara onslaught however, as David Pacan recorded his 17th goal just two minutes later, making it 4-0.  Pacan would strike again in the period to increase the lead to five goals.  Andrew Agozzino added a power play goal to give the IceDogs a six spot in the frame. 

In the third period, the lone goal went to Agozzino, his second of the game to finish the game with a 7-0 score.  Festarini made four more stops in the final period to complete the shutout.   

Agozzino recorded five points on the night, while Steven Shipley had four, both continuing their hot play in December. 

The Niagara IceDogs next home game is this Saturday, December 17th vs. the Sudbury Wolves.
