Brooks Headed for Back Surgery

February 19, 2013

Niagara IceDogs assistant coach Jason Brooks will be having surgery on his ailing back on March 11th.

Niagara IceDogs assistant coach Jason Brooks will be having surgery on his ailing back on March 11th.

Brooks initially injured his back during his playing career and aggravated it earlier this season.  Despite efforts to work through the injury, it has worsened and as a result he has had to remain at home in past weeks awaiting further information.  It was hoped that his back injury could be taken care of with just treatment, but after a doctor's appointment earlier this week it was determined that surgery would be necessary.  If all goes well with the surgery on March 11th, it is hoped that Brooks could return to the bench during the first round of the playoffs.

The entire IceDogs organization would like to wish Jason the best of luck with his surgery and we look forward to seeing him back on the bench soon!
