Team Ontario captured the Gold Medal with the 3-0 win today over team USA. The tournament featured the best 16 year players and featured Niagara IceDogs forward Andrew Agozzino and Head Coach Mario Cicchillo. Agozzion would finish the tournament with 5 goals and 7 points.
Windsor Spitfires forward Taylor Hall would open up the scoring after a beautiful wrist shot on a 2-1 at the 12:56 put Team Ontario up 1-0 after the first period. Guelph Storm forward Peter Holland would convert on a beautiful pass by Hall in the second period to extend the lead two Brampton Battalion forward Mathew Duchane scored late in the second period to bring add the insurance marker to bring the score to 3-0.
Team Ontario won its sixth championship all-time at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and their first championship since 2004 in St. John's, NL.
