Agozzino Represents IceDogs at OHL All-Star Classic

February 03, 2010

Niagara IceDogs Captain Andrew Agozzino is currently in Kingston representing the IceDogs as he participates in the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic, as a member of the Eastern Conference squad. The All-Star Classic got kicked off last night with the All-Star skills competition, where Agozzino participated in 3 events, the Puck Control Relay, the Penalty Shot Competition and the 3-on-3 Game.

Agozzino and the Eastern Conference team would fall in the Puck Control Relay, and Agozzino would be stymied by Sault Ste. Marie goaltender Robin Lehner on his penalty shot attempt. However, heading into the 3-on-3 game, which concluded the skills competition, the Eastern Confernce held a slim 8-7 lead.

Agozzino would finish his night in style and do everything he could to help the Eastern Conference maintain their lead, shining in the 3-on-3 game as he potted a team high two goals, but that would not be enough, as the Western Conference would take the 3-on-3 game 11-7 and the overall skills competition victory by a score of 18-15.

While the Western Conference drew first blood with their skills competition victory, Agozzino and the Eastern Conference will be looking to exact a little revenge for the Skills Competition loss in tonight's All-Star Game.

Puck drop for the game is scheduled for 7:00pm and the game will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario, Pacific and West.
