April 9, 2010

IceDogs Captain Andrew Agozzino has signed an amateur tryout contact with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced late Thursday that the team has signed three players to amateur tryout contracts, including IceDogs Captain Andrew Agozzino.

Agozzino, along with fellow signees Matt Fraser and David Stitch, will be available to the Rivermen for their final two games, against the Manitoba Moose on Friday and Saturday.

Agozzino, 19, recently completed his third season as a member of the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League. He registered 66 points (37g, 29a) in 66 regular season games and another five points (3g, 2a) in five playoff games. The 5-foot-9-inch, 185-pound center has 144 points (76g, 68a) in 183 career games with the IceDogs.

The IceDogs would like to congratulate Andrew on the signing and wish him the best of luck this weekend in Manitoba!
